Faculty and Staff

Partnering for student success.

Faculty and staff are essential partners in supporting the success of first-year students at Ohio State. As new Buckeyes navigate their transition to college, they often rely on instructors, advisors and staff members for guidance, connection and support.

First Year Experience (FYE) is here to support you in that role. Through student success tools, campus information, and professional development opportunities, FYE helps faculty and staff guide new students every step of the way, whether you are seeking answers to common questions, looking for campus resources, or exploring ways to enhance the overall student experience.

We also invite faculty and staff to engage professionally through the Focusing on the First Year Conference, an opportunity to learn, collaborate, and share best practices for supporting first-year student success.

Ways to Support First-Year Buckeyes

Peer Leaders

For students seeking one-on-one support for non-academic transitions like getting involved or managing their new independence, our FYE Peer Leaders are the perfect resource.

First Year Success Series

The Success Series helps first-year students navigate college and build essential skills. Faculty and staff can support students by presenting workshops to share their expertise.

Resources and FAQs

From navigating campus life to tracking university deadlines, FYE's FAQs and resources give you the quick answers you need to support your students' success.

Focusing on the First Year Conference

The FYE Conference provides professional development opportunities for faculty and staff to stay informed of best practices on how to guide and advocate for our newest Buckeyes.
