First Year Success Consultations

Your first year of college is exciting—but it can also feel overwhelming. With so many resources available at Ohio State, it’s not always easy to know where to begin when you need support or have questions. That’s where First Year Success Consultations come in.

What Are They?

First Year Success Consultations are 30-minute virtual appointments designed to help first-year students connect with the support they need to thrive. These conversations are led by FYE Peer Leaders, experienced students who are trained and knowledgeable about Ohio State’s resources.

What Can You Talk About?

These consultations are perfect if you're looking for help with:

• Building your social network at Ohio State
• Managing your new-found college independence
• Navigating your busy schedule as a person and thriving college student
• Knowing and understanding campus resources and services

What to Expect

During your one-on-one conversation, you’ll:

• Share your questions, concerns, or goals
• Receive personalized recommendations for one or more campus resources
• Leave with a clear next step to take — and the resources you need to succeed.

Peer Leaders are here to guide you. They’ll help you figure out your next steps and point you toward the right resources.
