2019 Schedule

Sunday, August 11:

  • Residence Hall Check-in: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Students and families will report to the residence halls they have been assigned for the academic school year. At that location you will receive your room keys and relevant information from Residence Life. You will be allowed the eight-hour window to move in and settle into your rooms.
  • Buckeyes First Family Welcome: 1 p.m.
    Students, families, and guests attend optional welcome session.
  • Buckeyes First Check in: 5 to 5:30 p.m.
    Students will check-in for Buckeyes First and mingle with other families and meet FYE staff. Following check-in, students will get to know their first-generation peers during dinner and activities.

Monday, August 12: The main activity is Summit Vision, which includes camping and group activities. Sessions will cover university business, personal strengths and understanding the first-generation experience.

Tuesday, August 13: Sessions will cover student wellness, understanding your campus and resources, social transition and explore Columbus.

Wednesday, August 14: Sessions will cover academic transition, networking with faculty and staff and goal setting. The day will end with the Buckeyes First closing ceremony.

Thursday, August 15: Students will transition to the OWL program for additional training before move-in day on August 17.
