Orientation Leaders

Apply to be an Orientation Leader for summer 2014

Orientation Leaders (OLs) are undergraduate students who play an integral role in introducing new students to Ohio State by serving as mentors and sharing their experiences as successful students. Throughout the summer, OLs assist our incoming students and their families in a variety of capacities, all to make the newest members of our community excited and prepared to come to Ohio State. OLs work in collaboration with other OLs, First Year Experience (FYE) professional staff, University Housing staff, academic advisors and other University administrators to ensure that new students have a positive orientation experience.

Apply to be an Orientation Leader at Applications are due by noon on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.

Completing your application

  1. Read the Orientation Leader position description. Be sure to read this thoroughly to understand both the responsibilities of the position and the steps in the application process.
  2. Complete the 2014 Orientation Leader application by noon on Jan. 27, 2014.

    • Fill out the application and click Submit
    • You will receive a confirmation email from
  3. Submit one professional reference. The person you identify as a reference must be a university professional (faculty or staff). Please have your reference complete the online recommendation form at by January 27, 2014.

To save your application (to return to it later):

      1. Click the Save button at the bottom of the page
      2. The form should then close
      3. At the bottom of the page you should see a new item created in the Saved section

To re-open a saved application:

      1. Go to and log in with your name.#
      2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Saved section
      3. Check the box next to your name
      4. Scroll to the top of the page and select the Items tab
      5. Click Edit Item and continue with the application
