Wilderness Welcome: Adventure on the Gorge for transfer students

Connect to Ohio State and other new transfer students through Wilderness Welcome, an outdoor adventure held the summer before classes begin.
Experience the excitement and beauty of the outdoors at the top destination for white-water rafting in the East. During this expedition-style rafting trip along the New River Gorge in West Virginia, you'll enjoy s’mores around the campfire, meet other transfer students new to Ohio State, and get tips about transitioning into the Buckeye culture. This trip accommodates 21 participants of all rafting and camping abilities.
Wilderness Welcome occurs the week before move-in. During the trip, the OAC will securely store your residence hall items. After the trip, you will be able to move in early, and then you will join the OWL program! This trip is also available for 1 academic credit hour.
