Since 1927, Ohio State has welcomed new Buckeyes to campus through the tradition of University Orientation. To celebrate 90 years of helping new students find their home at Ohio State, University Orientation and First Year Experience will host the Orientation 90th Anniversary Celebration.
All orientation alumni, facilitators and staff members are invited to campus for a two-day celebration of the 90-year history of University Orientation. The celebration gives guests the opportunity to reconnect with classmates, the university and the Peer Leader program.

Campus tour and cocktail reception
Friday, September 22

5 –7 p.m. Cocktail reception
Haven't visited campus for a while? Join us for a walking tour of central campus, guided by a current Peer Leader, and then return to the Ohio Union for a cocktail reception.The cocktail reception features a short program about how Orientation has evolved over 90 years at Ohio State and guest speaker Dr. Mabel Freeman, former assistant vice president for Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience. The reception will allow plenty of time to catch up with former orientation leaders and expand your orientation alumni network. Reception cost is $25 and includes the guided campus tour, one beverage ticket and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Cash bar available. For assistance in arranging group dinner reservations at Columbus area restaurants following the reception, please contact Julie Fridley at orientationalumni@osu.edu.
Family-friendly tailgate

Come to the heart of campus for a brunch-style tailgate. Connect to and visit with classmates and their families while enjoying food, drinks, games and more. Tailgate cost is $25 and includes one beverage ticket and an all-you-can-eat buffet. Children (10 years old and younger) are welcome at a reduced price of $10. In order to provide an enhanced orientation and Peer Leader program for years to come, we are fundraising as a part of the Orientation 90th Anniversary Celebration. We challenge each former orientation alum to contribute $90 or more to commemorate 90 years of University Orientation.
