Buckeye Book Community

Undergraduate Admissions and First Year Experience has partnered with offices across campus to conduct a fund-raising effort in support of Greg Mortenson’s Pennies for Peace organization.

Greg Mortenson is the co-author of Three Cups of Tea, this year’s Buckeye Book Community selection. He created Pennies for Peace as a fund-raising organization after being inspired by the efforts of young school children who helped him raise money—one penny at a time—to build his first school in Pakistan.

Pennies for Peace continues as an international organization doing more than just raising money. The organization’s service-learning efforts include promoting education and building awareness of global issues.

UAFYE hopes to make a global difference one penny and one student at a time through a campus-wide fund-raising effort. Please help us make a difference donating spare pennies—and nickels, dimes, and quarters, too!
